Daily CHALLENGE & ACTiViTY Summary

Dog’s name: Moku

Date: Thursday, October 15, 2015

Physical Fitness

Moku walked and swam today. .8 miles around the neighborhood, and about ten active minutes in the pool. Nothing too strenuous today, though we did walk at a fast pace.

Cognitive Fitness

Moku and I played the warm-up to the Inferential Reasoning games on Dognition.com today. I don’t think he tested above chance (guessing); though we didn’t get to the results because I like to space out these games so we have one to play each week. You’ll see how this one went in the video.

Social Fitness

Moku spent a second day with me at the house where I’ve been pet sitting. To follow up from yesterday’s socialization work with little Ranger, everything was much better between them today! Turns out they just needed an extended introduction, with a bit of guidance for Ranger on how best to deal with his discomfort in situations where he meets (BIG) new dogs. And today the two of them did great!

Unfortunately, we missed our Mission training this evening due to the rainstorm (thunder, lighting, mudslides, etc.)

Emotional Fitness

Moku did GREAT today getting into the car! It took him just over a minute to figure out today! And I sensed that he has come to an “acceptance” of this new routine. He just figured it out, put his best effort into it, and did it! All by himself! To me, these (seemingly insignificant) little events are benchmarks of maturity…and successes to be recognized and celebrated!

Primal Fitness

Not a ton to report here. Just hanging with the pack, and continuing to bring balance to the group dynamic. Oh yeah, I did have to hose Moku down after the sniffing, digging, instinctual DOG in him dug up an old, rotten avocado in the yard (of the house where I’m staying). I had to reach down into his mouth and pull out the avocado sludge, which then got smeared all over both Moku and me. YUCK! But…my fault for not keeping him busy with other things in that moment.
