If  your dog has what it takes to be an upstanding, hard-working member of the community with a gentle, human-centered temperament, high sociability with other dogs and especially people, and has no shyness, fear, anxiety, or aggression  AND

If   you (are local and) have the time and dedication required to earn 50 hours of community service alongside your dog  by participating in events at Beale Library, the Mission at Kern County, Glenwood Gardens senior center, Seven Oaks Assisted Living facility, many schools in and around Bakersfield, etc.  AND

If   you and your dog enjoy interacting with children and adults of all ages and ability levels, often in large groups, on stage, and in crowded public places  (not just tolerate, but truly enjoy)

Then please contact me to discuss getting your dog certified as a therapy dog.

I head up Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue's "Miracle Mutts" program in Bakersfield, CA. Here, therapy dog hopefuls earn the 50 hours of community service required for therapy dog certification by participating in our community outreach and education programs. If you feel your dog has what it takes to educate, inspire, and share love with people across Kern County and beyond, please contact me. Your dog must pass the Canine Good Citizen test, in addition to a temperament evaluation, before beginning to earn hours toward certification.
