When patterns are broken,

                    new worlds emerge.

awesome

unhealthy

The fit will survive.

The word "fit" is synonymous with the words "adapted", "suited", and "competent".

There is so much more to life than merely surviving! Each of us, human and canine, has a wealth of potential just waiting to be tapped. Each of us has the capacity to break unhealthy behavior patterns, learn new things, and grow beyond perceived limitations that keep us from thriving in our lives!

As dog guardians, we humans are responsible for fulfilling not only our dogs' basic needs for food, water, shelter and love. But also for realizing their need for physical and mental stimulation, and their potential to be helpful, intelligent and well-behaved members of their family-packs and communities.

Our daily habits necessarily become our dogs'; barriers to our health and well-being become theirs, but so do the moves we make forward in pursuit of creating health and wellness!

Frisky Fitness programs are designed to teach you ways to engage with your dog in healthy practices that collectively, over time, become a balanced, productive, lower-stress and altogether more satisfying lifestyle.

By doing what is best for your dog, you end up doing what is best for yourself and your family! Learning and implementing Frisky Fitness principles will maximize your dog's desirable behavior, and minimize her undesirable behavior. And while you are empowering her to her fullest potential as a dog, you will achieve your fullest potential as a Dog Guardian!

Learn to understand your dogs' physical, cognitive, emotional, and primal needs in order to provide them with the healthiest and happiest life possible! Change behavior patterns that have you, your pets, and your family unit stuck in unhealthy cycles, such as:

-- emotional feeding and treat-giving; I will help you understand why feeding your dog based on nutritional needs, rather than on feelings of guilt, or giving in to begging, is the healthiest practice for both of you

-- too little exercise & outdoor time, resulting in lowered energy, illness, and feelings of depression, anxiety and general malaise; I will show you how to prioritize your and your dog's collective fitness, empowering you both to feel your best

-- a lack of routine, structure, or clearly designated "house rules" where caring for the dog is concerned; I will guide you in structuring your dog's time and space, and managing her energy efficiently

-- an imbalanced lifestyle, weighted too heavily on the side of work versus play, rest versus activity, freedom versus responsibility; comfort versus novelty (or vice versa); I will teach you how to provide your dog - and yourself - with the various elements of a balanced lifestyle

-- co-dependent tendencies in your and your dog's relationship, resulting in the development of separation anxiety (when you leave the house or even walk out of the room); I will assist you in cultivating your dog's confidence and sense of independence

-- too many hours a day in front of the computer, TV, phone and tablet screens; I will help you build in more quality time with your dog and the whole family-pack -- spent outside and moving rather than inside and sitting

The Frisky Fit will thrive.

To thrive means "to grow vigorously"; to "progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances".
