Letting Go of the Leash

Resistence begets resistence, therefore if you tense up on your end of the leash, you give power to the puller on the other end. In other words, you create exactly what you want to defeat. Try "letting go" - literally and figuratively speaking - and see what happens. Let go of the need to "control" the situation, and see if more control comes to you.The whole of the walk is comprised of both your and your dog's energetic contributions, and when one individual in a relationship alters his or her own behavior, it effects change in the behavior of the other. The entirety of the dynamic changes when one part of it does.
